The National Basketball League has confirmed a significant seven per cent increase to player payments for the upcoming Hungry Jack’s NBL27 season.

This adjustment, outlined in the league’s Salary and Contracting Rules, reflects the competition’s continued commercial growth and a commitment to maintaining a competitive balance while rewarding its elite playing talent.

For the 2026–27 campaign, the Salary Cap has been established at $2,167,358.92, while the Salary Floor, the mandatory minimum spend for each of the ten franchises, sits at $1,950,642.53.

This year-on-year rise ensures that investment in playing rosters remains robust as the league seeks to solidify its position as one of the premier domestic basketball competitions in the world.

Individual player remuneration is also set for a notable uplift, with the minimum salary rising from $82,948.37 to a new benchmark of $88,754.76 for next season. The marquee player structure, which allows teams to attract top-tier talent with varying levels of cap exemptions, has also been adjusted, with the fourth marquee slot now valued at $535,121.73.

The financial restructure arrives at a critical juncture in the league’s calendar, with all ten clubs currently finalising their strategic recruitment plans.

The revised salary framework provides the necessary parameters for list managers and coaches as they prepare for the opening of the Free Agency period, which is officially set to commence on 17 April 2026.
