Cricket Tasmania (CT), the governing body for cricket in the state, is reaffirming its commitment to grassroots development and community engagement with the creation of a new Community Competitions Coordinator role.

This appointment is set to bolster the foundational levels of the game across southern Tasmania, in line with CT’s broader mission to inspire, engage, and entertain local communities.

Reporting to the Community Cricket Manager – South, the newly established position will provide vital administrative and strategic support to local cricket associations and community partners.

A key focus of the role will be the effective delivery of inclusive competitions across a range of formats to attract, retain, and re-engage players, umpires, and volunteers. Strengthening participation and volunteer involvement remains essential to ensuring the long-term sustainability and growth of the sport at a community level.

Ideal candidates will bring a data-informed approach to the position, leveraging insights and feedback to drive improvements and support strategic planning. Proven experience in managing competition schedules, rosters, results, ladders, and statistics is required, along with a strong understanding of the changing landscape of community sport.

The ability to build and maintain effective relationships with clubs, associations, and key stakeholders will also be central to the role’s success.

For Cricket Tasmania, this investment highlights the importance of a strong grassroots foundation within the broader cricket ecosystem. By facilitating well-managed and inclusive competitions, CT aims to deliver positive experiences that not only sustain interest at a local level but also support talent pathways into higher levels of the game.
