The National Football League (NFL) has announced an expansion of its Global Markets Program (GMP) set for 2025, introducing three additional clubs into the initiative.

With the inclusion of the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals, and Tennessee Titans, all 32 NFL teams will now officially participate in the program across 21 international markets.

This move underscores the league’s commitment to enhancing global outreach and expanding its fan base worldwide.

Commenting on the expansion, NFL executive vice president of club business, major events & international, Peter O’Reilly, said: “We’re thrilled to have all 32 clubs a part of the Global Markets Program in 2025.”

O’Reilly emphasised that the league-wide engagement demonstrates a strategic focus on global growth, highlighting the ongoing momentum and the shared ambition to bring international fans closer to the sport.

Initiated in 2022, the Global Markets Program grants NFL clubs international marketing rights, enabling them to foster brand awareness and engagement beyond the boundaries of the United States.

This encompasses a variety of activities, including fan interactions, events, commercial ventures, and the development of NFL Flag programs.

The details of the latest Global Markets Program expansion for 2025 include the following new allocations:

  • Buffalo Bills: Granted marketing rights in Canada.
  • Cincinnati Bengals: Granted marketing rights in Canada.
  • Tennessee Titans: Granted marketing rights in Ireland.

NFL clubs are permitted to apply for rights to international markets by submitting proposals to the International Committee each spring.

Clubs typically receive marketing rights for a five-year term, during which they can undertake activities analogous to those they conduct in their domestic markets.

These recent additions were officially endorsed at the NFL’s 2025 Spring League Meeting held in Minneapolis.

The updated list of clubs and their assigned international markets highlights the league’s diverse global reach, encompassing countries such as Canada, Germany, Mexico, and the United Kingdom, among others, and reflects the NFL’s ongoing strategy to solidify its presence in the international sports arena.
