The Victoria Racing Club (VRC) has announced the completion of its new executive team with the appointment of prominent figures in the industry to head its finance, commercial, and operations divisions.
Tania Abbotto has been appointed as the chief operating officer, Fran Vavallo takes on the role of chief commercial officer, and Adam Forsyth steps in as the chief financial officer.
They will join existing executives Leigh Jordon, in the capacity of chief racing officer, and Nikki Clarkson, who serves as chief marketing officer, to spearhead the next phase of VRC’s strategic development under the leadership of CEO, Kylie Rogers.
Rogers expressed that the new appointments not only establish a balanced and experienced leadership team but also signify an exciting new era for the VRC.
“Tania, Fran and Adam are all highly respected individuals and strong leaders with a proven track record of success in their respective fields. They each bring a skill set that compliments the current team and we look forward to collectively striving towards our vision to be a leader in world-class racing and experiences,” Rogers said.
Abbotto will be responsible for leading the club’s property and operations, legal, risk, people and culture, and technology functions.
With two decades of experience, she has excelled in driving customer growth, fostering strategic alignment, and implementing sustainable change in senior roles at organisations such as Sportsbet, MACC Property Group, Coles, and Optus.
Vavallo will take charge of the VRC’s customer, commercial, and events sectors, bringing over 20 years of expertise in building high-performance commercial teams within the media and sports sectors, where his previous positions include senior roles at World Rugby, Tennis Australia, and Seven West Media.
Commenting on joining VRC, Vavallo, said: “What an exciting time to join the VRC and be part of such a prestigious and historic organisation.
“The VRC’s commitment to growth and innovation is incredibly inspiring and I’m looking forward to contributing to the club’s vision of delivering world-class racing and unforgettable experiences alongside a passionate and talented team,” Vavallo said.
Forsyth will manage the club’s finance and procurement operations and brings a robust background at Brown Family Wine Group, Carlton & United Breweries, and Treasury Wine Estates.
