Woodside Continue Decade Long Partnership With Fremantle

Woodside will continue its long-standing partnership with Fremantle, agreeing to a contract extension as a co-major sponsor for a further three years.

Australia’s largest independent oil and gas company is in its 10th year as a co-major sponsor with Fremantle, with the extension running through to the end of the 2022 season.

Woodside’s co-major sponsorship of Fremantle’s AFLW team has also been extended through to the end of the 2022 season.

Additionally, Woodside continues as the club’s Indigenous Program Partner during this time.

Fremantle CEO, Steve Rosich, said Woodside’s support of Fremantle went beyond a sponsorship agreement.

“Woodside has been a part of the club for 10 years and we’re delighted to see this partnership continuing through to the end of the 2022 season,” Rosich said.

“Woodside joins our other long-standing co-major sponsor Programmed as partners until at least 2022.

“This is more than just a sponsorship, Woodside has thrown its support behind both of our AFL and AFL Women’s teams and their contribution as our Indigenous Program Partner has been invaluable for our players, coaches, staff, members and supporters.

“As a proud West Australian club, it’s incredibly meaningful to have a proud WA company supporting us.”

Woodside also works with the club on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander initiatives and consults with the club on the development and execution of its Reconciliation Action plans.

This includes the 10th annual Woodside Cup, which features Clontarf Academy students from around WA, and will be played as a curtain raiser prior to Fremantle’s round 15 clash against Carlton.

Woodside CEO, Peter Coleman, said the company was delighted to extend its partnership with the Fremantle Dockers.

“Woodside and the Fremantle Football Club are two great WA institutions and we have been on this journey together for a decade,” Coleman said.

“We take great pride in our longstanding partnership with the Club and its evolution over the past 10 years, including the addition of the AFLW team and our support as Indigenous Program Partner.

“Announcing our continued partnership during National Reconciliation Week gives us the opportunity to highlight our shared commitment to reconciliation.
