Scentre Group, the Australian Olympic Committee, and Paralympics Australia have unveiled Westfield as the official partner of the Australian Olympic and Paralympic teams.

In an exciting strategic collaboration, all 37 Westfield locations throughout Australia will be transformed into designated Live Sites for the upcoming Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. Starting in July, customers can head to their local Westfield centre to catch live streams of key events straight from Paris, indulge in Olympic and Paralympic themed festivities, enjoy live music, and much more.

Elliott Rusanow, CEO of Scentre Group, emphasised that this partnership aims to strengthen community ties and provide more incentives for customers to frequent their local Westfield centres:

“Our Westfield destinations are known as community hotspots where people gather to connect and spend quality time. As the countdown to the 2024 Paris Olympic and Paralympic Games begins, we take immense pride in naming Westfield as the official team partner of the Australian Olympic and Paralympic teams.

“Come July, Australians nationwide will have the opportunity to come together and support their beloved athletes. Every one of our 37 Westfield locations will evolve into official Live Sites, expanding their operational hours, including early morning slots when many live events and matches will unfold.

“We are thrilled to enhance the array of experiences available at our Westfield destinations by introducing Live Sites as a fresh and distinctive way for people to pass their time. We eagerly anticipate transforming our Westfield centres into local games villages, brimming with green and gold spirit for our customers starting next month.”

Matt Carroll, CEO of the Australian Olympic Committee, expressed enthusiasm for the partnership with Westfield, highlighting how it will bring the thrill and drama of the Paris Olympics directly to millions of Australians:

“Our Australian Olympic athletes carry the national pride with tremendous honour, and this partnership truly underscores the extensive support from communities across the nation.

“We are incredibly excited about this Live Site collaboration with Westfield, which will showcase 34 Olympic sports during the Paris 2024 Games. Our heartfelt appreciation to Westfield for providing this vibrant link between the athletes and the communities they represent.”

Acting CEO of Paralympics Australia, Cameron Murray, shared the organisation’s delight in teaming up with Westfield, whose commitment to establishing vibrant community centres aligns seamlessly with their mission to engage more Australians with Paralympic sports:

“We are absolutely delighted to partner with Westfield, whose dedication to creating dynamic community hubs resonates with our goal of connecting more Australians with Paralympic sports.

“The potential of this collaboration to elevate the visibility of the Australian Paralympic Team is tremendous. By converting Westfield sites into official Live Sites, we ensure fans nationwide can immerse themselves in the excitement of the Paralympic Games and show their support for our extraordinary athletes in real-time.

“This partnership with Westfield represents an unprecedented opportunity to reach a broader audience and foster deeper connections between Australians and the Paralympic movement. We look forward to witnessing our communities unite to celebrate the commitment and triumphs of our Paralympic athletes.”

A comprehensive calendar of not-to-be-missed moments will be available at Westfield locations from July through September 2024. Scentre Group’s collaboration with the Australian Olympic Committee and Paralympics Australia will extend to the 2026 Milan Winter Olympic and Paralympic Games.
