Western Bulldogs Break All-time Attendance, Membership Records

The Western Bulldogs have achieved unprecedented heights in both membership and home attendance figures. The club reports an impressive attendance of over 404,000 fans at their home games throughout the AFL season, reflecting a more than 10% increase compared to the previous record set in 2006.

Notably, over 100,000 of these attendees were Bulldogs members, showcasing the strong community support for the team.

The Bulldogs averaged a robust home attendance of 35,729 at Marvel Stadium, making them the leading tenant at the venue this year.

Despite these accomplishments, and acknowledging the disappointment of not progressing into the finals, Bulldogs CEO Ameet Bains, said: “In an AFL season unlike any we’ve seen before, it was obviously very disappointing to fall short of our finals expectations.”

“Rest assured we will be doing everything we can to bridge that gap to ensure we improve next year,” Bains said.

Bains highlighted the entertaining football and outstanding individual performances witnessed throughout the season, including recognition of the club’s three All Australians, all contributing to the impressive attendance and broadcast numbers.

He expressed sincere gratitude to fans and members for their unwavering support, encouraging continued engagement as the team aims for sustained success.

This figure represents a 9% year-on-year increase for the club, further solidifying their place within the league. A significant highlight for the club was the record-breaking single home match attendance during their Round 2 centenary game against Collingwood, where a remarkable 78,027 fans filled the MCG.

On the membership front, the Bulldogs have seen an inspiring trend, experiencing their fourth consecutive year of record growth. More than 65,000 individuals became members in 2025, marking an impressive 29% increase since 2021.

This growth has accompanied an expansion of their social media presence, with the club now boasting over 700,000 followers across various channels, up 7% from the previous year. The Bulldogs also rank among the top three AFL clubs for social media video views and have recorded the fastest-growing audience in the 18-35-year-old demographic.

Broadcast viewership for Bulldogs games further emphasised their popularity, with total viewers reaching 16.7 million across free-to-air and subscription platforms—a substantial 15.7% increase compared to 2024.

As the season draws to a close, Bains also encouraged the Bulldogs’ supporters to rally behind the club’s minor premier VFL side as they enter the finals, alongside the women’s team, who are set to face the Hawks at Mission Whitten Oval in a highly anticipated double-header this weekend.
