Weber Barbecues Extends Partnership With WBBL

The Women’s Big Bash League (WBBL) has announced that Weber Barbecues will continue as the tournaments naming rights sponsor for another season.

Having initially come together at the beginning of WBBL|07, the new deal means the competition will continue to be known as the Weber WBBL until the end of WBBL|09 in the 2023/24 cricket season.

Commenting on the announcement, Cricket Australia’s general manager of Big Bash Leagues, Alistair Dobson, said: “the league is delighted to be extending it’s naming rights partnership with Weber Barbecues into a third season.”

“Both Weber and the WBBL are world class in their field, but both also share strong links to the essence of summer: fun, family, food and cricket.

“We look forward to working with Weber over the next two season to strengthen these ties and deliver a brilliant experience to our fans nationwide,” he said.

Weber Barbecues managing director, Australia and New Zealand, Michael McDonald, added: “Barbecuing and cricket are the perfect recipe for the Australian summer and our partnership is enthusiastically supported by our consumers, our retail partners and our team.”

“We believe that getting involved in barbecuing, like playing cricket, should be inclusive of everyone and we are very proud to be able to support the growth of women’s cricket in Australia,” he said.

This new deal follows the record-breaking season for WBBL|07 on Foxtel and Kayo.
