ike new vaccination requirements for live events in Australia, Sports teams and venues across Seattle have announced vaccination and testing requirements to attend events.

The new Climate Pledge Arena joined the Seattle Seahawks, Mariners, Sounders, and Kraken to require proof of vaccination or a recent negative test upon entry for all those aged 12 and above.

Several announcements have been made to provide fans with enough time to get vaccinated before upcoming events in October.

Mandatory masks will also be in place for those attending above the age of 5 in alliance with the state and federal health guidelines for events with over 500 people.

Seattle Marines Senior Vice President, Trevor Gooby, said: “The evidence is clear- vaccination is safe and effective in preventing serious illness from COVID-19.

The Climate Pledge and Kraken Arena made a statement saying those attending the events will be able to show proof of vaccinations using their smartphones.

The venue’s construction has incorporated air circulation systems filtering outside air and contact-less features such as contact-free ticketing and food and beverage transactions.

Oak View Group Senior Vice President, Don Graham, added: “Throughout the construction process, we have followed guidance from the Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air- Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) and other health authorities to identify effective solutions, not only for today but for years to come,” Mr Graham said.

Seahawks President, Chuck Arnold, elaborated saying: “These measures will allow us to continue with plans to host a full stadium experience for our guests,” he said.

“We urge everyone who is eligible to please get vaccinated.

The CDC defined complete vaccination as two weeks after the second dose of Pfizer or Moderna vaccines or the single dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine.

Other University athletic departments such as the University of Washington and Washington State University have also announced vaccination requirements for games, including proof of vaccination or a negative COVID-19 test.
