The UFC, in partnership with The Memento Group (TMG), has launched a new online ecommerce memorabilia platform, UFC Collectibles.
The launch of the platform signals TMG becoming UFC’s global distributor of official licensed UFC memorabilia, in a deal brokered by global sponsorship agency, IMG.
The platform will provide fans with access to exclusive, limited edition and rare pieces of UFC event memorabilia, including fight-worn gloves and fight kits, fight night posters, and photographs signed by UFC athletes.
In a move to secure the credibility of the memorability, each item will have a built-in authentic hologram that can be registered digitally, accompanied with a certificate of authenticity.
The Memento Group commercial director, Philip Danglidis, said the company is working to increase the number of products available on the site throughout 2022 and beyond, in line with the multi-year partnership.
“We’re excited to finally reveal UFC Collectibles, our new venture in partnership with UFC,” Danglidis said.
“Our new platform will present unrivalled memorabilia to fans of UFC all over the world, delivering the action of the Octagon directly into their hands.
“With this new memorabilia experience, we hope to give fans the chance to own their favourite moments, bringing them closer to UFC than ever before,” he said.
Elsewhere, the UFC has expanded its broadcast coverage in the Netherlands and Spain, after signing a new long-term broadcast partnership with US media company, Discovery.
The partnership will see the competition broadcast on Discovery+ in the Netherlands and on Eurosport in Spain, and across Eurosport’s linear channels in the Netherlands.
UFC senior vice president of content and international, David Shaw, said: “The Discovery team came to us with a vision perfectly aligned with our growth aspirations in Europe.”
“This multi-year, multi-territory agreement will give UFC and our athletes a platform like never before, providing our fans in the Netherlands and Spain with access to more localised content as well as all the big blockbuster events.
“We’re excited about taking UFC to the next level alongside Discovery,” Shaw said.
