he Tour de France has announced they have renewed their partnership with French optics company, Krys for three years.
Krys has been a partner of Le Tour since 2014 and have sponsored the competition’s white jersey which is awarded to the best young (under 25) rider.
Tour de France General Director, Christian Prudhomme, noted the growing importance of the white jersey with youth taking control of the tour in recent years.
“Standing on the podium on the Champs-Elysées with the white jersey never happens by chance, and this rider is often the face of tomorrow’s cycling,” Prudhomme said in a statement.
“The link between the young champions and the fans of the Grande Boucle is essential in the promotion of cycling whether in competition or as an affordable and ecological means of transportation,” he said.
The 108th edition of the tour will mark eight consecutive years of the partnership and the first time Krys being a hearing partner of the tour.
As part of the partnership, Krys’ “Sight and Hearing Bus” will “allow everyone to receive visual and hearing screening tests with health professionals.”
Krys Group CEO, Jean-Pierre Champion said the ongoing partnership “symbolises our shared values.”
“This commitment is genuine dan meaningful for our brand, which is very attached to French savoir-faire and the development of its territories,” Champion said.
“It is a long-term partnership and symbolises the proximity of our opticians and hearing aid practitioners to their customers throughout the country,” he said.
