Top Super Rugby Pacific Commercial Partnerships: Highlanders, Reds And More

The Super Rugby Pacific season does not begin until 2022, however, here are the latest commercial partnerships as clubs prepare for the inaugural season.

New Zealand Highlanders

The Highlanders and their partners have come together to partner with the ‘We Can’ appeal.

The appeal is a community funded foodbank which supports those in need.

Highlanders CEO, Roger Clark, said: “We’re passionate about supporting our community and getting in behind this appeal was a no brainer for us.”

“We know it’s been a tough couple of years with COVID and we hope that our fans and commercial partners feel as strongly as we do and help us restock the foodbanks, so no one misses out this Christmas,” he said.

Queensland Reds

The Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) has announced Ringers Western as their official partners, with the deal lasting until 2024.

The partnership will include Reds-branded Ringer merchandise including water bottles and picnic blankets.

QRU CEO, David Hanham, said: “It’s great to partner with iconic Australian country wear brand Ringers Western.”

The partnership highlights the connection both partners have to the land and state.

Ringers Western founder, Andrew Macdonald, said: “Like us here at Ringers Western, the Queensland Reds have a deep connection to the country with many of the great past and present players who have pulled on the famous maroon jersey hailing from the country regions of this great state we both call home.”

The QRU has also announced another 2022 partnership with the starlight foundation.

The team will work with the non-for- profit charity to help provide funding, support and entertainment for sick children.

Starlight Queensland partnerships manager, Tracey Tomlin, said: “The work Starlight does to bring happiness to sicks kids is only made possible by the generosity of the community, so we’re incredibly appreciative to be announced as Queensland Rugby Union’s official charity partner.”

New South Wales Waratahs

The Waratahs’ have announced a new partnership with business advice company, Succession Plus.

The partnership aims to support small businesses and those in partnership with the team.

Waratahs general manager of commercial, Jason Moore, said: “We welcome Succession Plus to our Waratahs Business Family and look forward to working with Craig and his team to create long lasting business relationships from our vast and affluent Rugby network.” 

New Zealand Blues

The Blues have partnered with activity company, WAHU.

The company represents sport and fun, something the Blues felt represented the Kiwi lifestyle.

Goliath Australia/New Zealand general manager, Andrew Lee, said: “Our partnership just lets us do more of what we love—bring outdoors fun and games to families around the world.”

“And to do it with the Blues is an absolute pleasure,” Lee said.

Western Force

The Force have announced a renewal to their partnership with AMCAP Distribution Centre for another two years.

Western Force business development manager, Huw Lock, said: “It’s been a pleasure working alongside AMCAP since 2019 and it’s great to see them further their commitment to rugby in WA and the Force with this meaningful partnership structure.”
