Top Super Netball Commercial Partnerships: Fever, Thunderbirds, Firebirds

With little over a month to go before the 2022 Super Netball season kicks off March, here are the latest Super Netball commercial partnerships.

West Coast Fever

The Gold Industry Group has extended their partnership with Netball WA and West Coast Fever for another three years until the end of 2024.

Netball WA and West Coast Fever CEO, Simone Hansen, said: “The continued growth of netball, both at the elite level and grassroots, wouldn’t be possible without the ongoing and valued support of the Gold Industry Group.”

The partnership is reported to be the first in Australia to invest in women’s sport at all levels by the pair.

The deal first made in 2019 for a historic $5 million, is the largest investment into netball in WA’s history, highlighting a milestone for commercial companies to invest in women’s sport.

Gold Industry Group chairperson, Kelly Carter, said: “This partnership has uniquely positioned the gold industry as a key supporter of every level of netball in Western Australia, and of women’s sport more broadly.”

“Together, our partnership has been instrumental in connecting the Western Australian community to each other, the sport and our industry,” Carter said.

The partnership will include support for grassroots competitions, expanding Netball WA’s regional staff, improving facilities across the state and connecting Fever athletes with the local netball community just to name a few.

“The visibility of our sector that is created by having such enthusiastic ambassadors as the West Coast Fever athletes has been very powerful,” Carter said.

“We look forward to continuing to work alongside these incredible role models, as well as hopefully supporting the team through to a premiership title,” she said.

Adelaide Thunderbirds:

The Adelaide Thunderbirds have announced an extension of their partnership with Nippy’s for another two seasons.

Nippy’s general manager, Frank Morena, said: “A big part of why our partnership is so successful is that we share core values based around success, teamwork, healthy culture, and accountability.”

At the end of the renewal, the partnership will celebrate 21 years together and will be the longest serving partner at Netball South Australia.

Netball SA CEO, Bronwyn Klei, said: “Nippy’s have been strong supporters of netball for almost two decades now and have been passionate about servicing our community from grassroots level through to the elite.”

Queensland Firebirds:

Netball Queensland and the Queensland Firebirds have announced their new partnership with Valour Sport, with the brand becoming their official apparel partner for the 2022 season.

Netball Queensland general manager, Nathan Spooner, said: “ The Queensland Firebirds strive to be the best in the world and to do so it’s imperative that they look and feel elite when playing, training or representing the club.”

Valour director, Matthew Knight, said: “Valour Sport is proud to be leading the way in performance apparel, ensuring our athletes feel their best when they are performing at their peak.”
