he latest week in the AFL has seen a number of clubs bring in new commercial partners; here’s the top partnerships from around the league you may have missed.

Melbourne Football Club and co-principal partners of AFL and AFLW, Zurich have signed a two-year partnership extension through to the end of 2023.

Melbourne CEO, Gary Pert, said the club appreciates the support of Zurich and their commitment to the club.

“The last 12 months were particularly challenging and we are incredibly grateful to Zurich for their unwavering support to the Melbourne Football Club,” Pert said.

“To have Zurich commit to the red and blue for a further two years is an amazing show of faith and highlights the strength of our partnership.

“Zurich have always been committed to supporting our entire club and have been particularly strong supporters of our AFLW program and the work the club undertakes in the community space.

“They truly are a whole of club partner and we are very lucky to have such an engaged and aligned organisation on our team.

“I cannot thank Zurich enough for their support of our club and am excited to see what we can achieve together over the next few years,” he said.

Elsewhere, Port Adelaide has announced a new partnership with TAPS, with the hopes of engaging the community in future apprenticeship and traineeship opportunities.

TAPS CEO, Luke Walsh, said: “Aligning the TAPS brand with Port Adelaide Football Club made sense given its outstanding community engagement programs.”

“We’re looking forward to working with the team at the Power to grow the career opportunities available for young people in South Australia and the Northern Territory,” Walsh said.

Port Adelaide CEO, Matthew Richardson, said: “Our community programs are first and foremost about engaging with students and encouraging them to attend and complete their schooling but we also want them to have pathways into future careers and TAPS will assist with that.”

“We welcome TAPS to the Port Adelaide family and look forward to seeing the students in our programs benefit from the relationship,” Richardson said.

Around the rest of the league, the Sydney Swans have partnered with Safewill to encourage supporters to write a will and safeguard their assets.

The West Coast Eagles have donated $20,000 to the Lord Mayor’s Distress Relief Fund to assist those impacted by Cyclone Seroja in April.

The Adelaide Crows have collaborated with Adelaide Hills Distillery to release the 78 Degrees Crows Gin, using Crows’ tricolours.

Adelaide Football Club chief commercial officer, Dan Johnston, said: “When we first partnered with 78 Degrees, we immediately put our heads together to create something that our members and supporters would love.”

“The team at 78 Degrees have done an incredible job taking this project from concept to a fantastic final product, and we can’t wait for Crows fans to try it,” Johnston said.
