Top A-Leagues Commercial Partnerships: Melbourne City, Brisbane Roar And More

With the 2021/22 Isuzu Ute A-League season well underway, Ministry of Sport has the latest commercial partnerships from across the league.

Sydney FC

Sydney FC have announced a five-year extension of their partnership with the University of New South Wales (UNSW) Sydney.

Sydney FC chief executive officer, Danny Townsend, said: “We have had an outstanding partnership with University of New South Wales over the past five years and I’m happy to be able to announce a further five years.”

Partners since 2016, their goal is to give athletes the chance to achieve academic goals alongside their sporting goals.

UNSW deputy vice-chancellor academic & student life, professor Merlin Crossley, said: “We are determined to provide the support for each of those young academy players who want to progress their studies and careers along with their sporting aspirations.”

The deal will be the longest partnership in Sydney FC’s history.

“Sydney FC have been the benchmark for many years now and we are pleased to be able to support of their fantastic young footballers to gain a first-class education at one of the world’s top 50 universities,” Crossley said.

Melbourne City

Melbourne City have announced MyRepublic as their exclusive official internet partner.

The partnership will focus on bringing the sport to a wider audience.

MyRepublic Group chief marketing officer and Australian country manager, Ji Jing, said: “As an ISP in Australia, we are also a champion for diversity and inclusion by breaking down the digital divide.”

Melbourne City CEO, Brad Rowse, said: “Our fans want to see the fastest players on the pitch and I’m sure they want their club to partner with the best brands off the pitch.”

“With MyRepublic we have opened a door for them to experience a genuinely trailblazing proposition and lightning speed internet connectivity,” Rowse said.

Melbourne Victory

Melbourne Victory has extended their partnership with Tobin Brothers for the 2021/22 season.

Melbourne Victory managing director, Caroline Carnegie, said: “Tobin Brothers’ loyalty and commitment as a commercial partner of the club continues to be appreciated by everyone at Melbourne Victory.”

Their new season campaign will feature the “Say It Now” campaign, where athletes thank their loved ones for supporting their football dreams.

Brisbane Roar

Brisbane Roar have announced a partnership with car rental company, SIXT, for the next two Isuzu Ute A-League seasons.

SIXT CEO, Matthew Beattie, said: “SIXT is proud to be partnering with Brisbane Roar for the upcoming Isuzu UTE A-League season, bringing our global brand into the Australian market through the passionate Roar fanbase.”

Newcastle United Jets

Lastly, the Newcastle United Jets have announced Modus Brewing as their official partner for the 2021/22 A-League season, with the family-owned brand to provide products for all Jets home matches at McDonald Jones Stadium.
