TNT Sports and 5 Secure UK Broadcast Rights for Cricket Australia 2026/2027 Down Under Season

Pay-television broadcaster TNT Sports and free-to-air network 5 have secured a sub-licensing and broadcast rights agreement with Cricket Australia to deliver exclusive live and free-to-air coverage of the upcoming 2026/2027 Australian domestic international season to viewers across the United Kingdom.

Under the agreement, TNT Sports holds exclusive live broadcast rights for England’s white-ball tour of Australia during the 2026/2027 winter season, alongside high-profile international series featuring New Zealand.

Free-to-air broadcaster 5 will provide dedicated free-to-air highlights packages across its linear channel and digital streaming platforms following every fixture of England’s limited-overs campaign.

Key Rights Portfolio & International Schedule

The joint broadcast agreement encompasses several high-profile international series running from November 2026 through March 2027:

  • England Men’s White-Ball Tour: Live coverage of the three-match One Day International (ODI) series and five-match T20 International series taking place in November and December 2026.
  • 150th Anniversary Test Match: Exclusive live broadcast of the historic one-off Test Match between Australia and England, scheduled for 11–15 March 2027 at the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) to celebrate 150 years of Test cricket.
  • Australia vs. New Zealand Men’s Test Series: Live rights to Australia’s four-Test home series against New Zealand across December 2026 and January 2027.
  • Australia vs. New Zealand Women’s ODI Series: Complete live coverage of the three-match Women’s ODI series in March 2027.

Portfolio Alignment & Platform Distribution

The Cricket Australia deal significantly expands TNT Sports’ international cricket portfolio, complementing existing long-term rights agreements to broadcast New Zealand’s home internationals and India’s home international fixtures, including Australia’s five-Test tour of India scheduled for early 2027.

In the UK, TNT Sports will distribute live coverage via its streaming service on HBO Max (available via a standalone 12-month plan for £25.99 per month) alongside linear television distribution across EE TV, Prime Video, Sky, and Virgin Media platforms.

Production plans and commentary team details for England’s fixtures in Australia are set to be confirmed.
