The NHL Unveils Enhanced Smart-TV App in Partnership with ViewLift

The National Hockey League (NHL) has reimagined its free smart-TV application in collaboration with digital streaming platform ViewLift. The redesigned app is now accessible on Apple TV, Android TV, Fire TV, and Roku smart-TV services, each boasting a customised user interface courtesy of ViewLift.

This revamped app empowers users to personalise their feeds based on their favourite teams, offering a comprehensive experience with highlights, additional programming, and supplementary content.

Nili Doft, NHL Senior Vice President for Digital Media, emphasised the fan-centric approach, stating, “The redesigned NHL app gives fans easy and engaging destinations to catch all the latest highlights and recaps of their home teams and the League overall.

“ViewLift’s expertise in sports streaming is ensuring that we can curate and present compelling content to our fans.”

ViewLift, with a track record of involvement in NHL streaming, has previously served franchises such as the Washington Capitals. The company solidified its digital presence by securing a digital rights deal with the Vegas Golden Knights, the 2022-23 Stanley Cup-winning franchise, in August. This multi-year partnership enables ViewLift to live-stream all Golden Knights games on digital platforms, catering to fans in Nevada and surrounding states within the team’s broadcast territory.
