The Adelaide 36ers Form New Partnership To Invest In Grassroots Basketball

In a partnership that will boost grassroots basketball in South Australia, the Adelaide 36ers and HomeStart Finance have partnered to deliver community clinics to thousands of aspiring players throughout the state.

At least 10 community club basketball clinics, which are scheduled to start this month, will be run in stadiums across South Australia and Adelaide 36ers stars Brandon Teys and Kevin White are among the players who will be in attendance on the day.

These clinics aim to help young players from across the Basketball SA district competition develop key sporting skills and foster community spirit, while also giving participants the chance to meet – and train with – their basketball heroes.

HomeStart Chief Executive Officer, John Oliver, said the organisation, which has helped more than 75,000 South Australians into homeownership since it started in 1989, is passionate about giving back to the community and helping young South Australians achieve their dreams.

“One of the ways we do this is through our community partnerships and we’re looking forward to working with the Adelaide 36ers to help them deliver these clinics.

“It’s a significant investment in helping those who are just starting out in the sport,” Mr Oliver said.

“Basketball is played by thousands of South Australians and performs an important role in the social fabric of so many communities.

“The Adelaide 36ers share HomeStart’s values of giving everyone a chance and we’re proud to work together with them on this.”

Adelaide 36ers Chief Executive Officer, Ben Kavenagh, said uniting with great local initiatives is important for the club.

“We are thrilled to partner with HomeStart Finance, who make homeownership possible for so many South Australians,” Mr Kavenagh said.

“It is fantastic to find a partner that shares our belief on the importance in connecting with the South Australian community.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank HomeStart for their support and making our community club basketball clinics possible.”

The Adelaide 36ers 2019/20 season tips off against the Sydney Kings, in Sydney, on October 12.
