Tennis Australia Partners With Marriott Bonvoy

Tennis Australia has announced a deal that will see Marriott Bonvoy become the official hotel partner of the inaugural ATP Cup men’s team tournament and the Women’s Tennis Association’s (WTA) Brisbane International.

The deal will see players, coaches, VIPs and tournament staff stay at participating Marriott International hotels during the two events in January, as well as Marriott Bonvoy members given the opportunity to experience behind-the-scenes access, coaching clinics with players and coin tosses.

Tennis Australia chief revenue and experiential officer, Richard Heaselgrave, said the partnership will give tennis fans attending the tournaments access to exclusive ATP Cup and Brisbane International hotel rates and packages.

“Both Tennis Australia and Marriott Bonvoy are committed to providing the playing group, coaches and staff with an authentic and memorable travel experience to enhance their trip to Australia and our summer of events,” Heaselgrave said.

Marriott International’s area vice president for Australia, New Zealand and the Pacific, Sean Hunt, said the partnership with the ATP Cup and Brisbane International will give fans and athletes an opportunity to witness their portfolio of brands.

“Our partnership with the ATP Cup and Brisbane International will offer Marriott Bonvoy members VIP access and one-in-a-lifetime opportunities that will take them to the heart of the action and even closer to their sporting idols,” Mr Hunt said.

“This partnership also offers us an exciting opportunity to host some of the world’s best tennis talent, and to showcase our first-class service and spectacular portfolio of brands,” he said.

This partnership announcement comes immediately following news from Tennis Australia that Mastercard agreed to a multi-year extension of its global sponsorship deal to remain the official payment partner of the Australian Open.

The 2020 ATP Cup men’s team tournament is set to take place across Brisbane, Perth and Sydney at the beginning of January, with teams from 24 countries competing for a $22 million prize fund.
