Sydney FC And Sydney Kings Form Strategic Alliance

Sydney FC and the Sydney Kings have formed a new alliance with the goal of getting Sydney siders out to support their local teams in the Hyundai A-League and the NBL respectively.

The deal will see members of each club be offered the opportunity to support the opposite club with access to a Kings game for Sydney FC members and access to a Sydney FC home match for Kings members.

Sydney FC chief executive officer, Danny Townsend, said he is delighted to help share the success of both teams and for Sydney as a whole.

“We’d like to say a big thank you to all of our Sydney FC fans and those of the Sydney Kings who came out last weekend and who continue to support Sydney sport,” Mr Townsend said.

“It’s this continued backing that keeps both our clubs successful when rival opposition sides come to town.

“I’m very happy that Sydney FC is involved in this partnership which will make it easier for both club’s members to experience more top-level sport,” he said.

In a successful weekend for both sides in their respective competitions, a combined 33,630 fans turned out to watch the clubs play at their respective venues on Sunday, showing the strength of Sydney’s elite sport.

Sydney Kings chairman and owner, Paul Smith, said he is pleased to see the two sports coming together and seeing success side-by-side.

“Sydney is a big city with a lot of people, and we plan to motivate as many fans as possible to experience our sport, be it basketball or football, at the highest level,” Mr Smith said.

“Collaborating and supporting each other is the key to that,” he said.

The clubs have both stated their members will receive specific details and information in the coming days regarding the partnership and what this means for the opportunity to attend the other club’s games.
