The driver pairing which gains the most positions during the PIRTEK Enduro Cup will win $15,000, as part of a new partnership with Volkswagen Amarok.

The AMAROK V6 Hard Charger Award has been launched ahead of this year’s Supercheap Bathurst 1000, Vodafone Gold Coast 600 and Penrite Oil Sandown 500 events.

Positions gained during each of the four races will be tallied to decide the winner, adding an extra incentive to the year’s biggest events.

“To stand a chance at claiming the Hard Charger title, teams will need to work their way through the field in some of the hardest wheel-to-wheel racing on the planet,” Volkswagen’s Nick Reid said.

“A tough task at the best of times, and the perfect fit for our equally tough Amarok ute.

“Things don’t always go to plan in the PIRTEK Enduro Cup; so this is intended to reward the team and drivers who push the hardest.

“It’s an exciting competition we are very delighted to be a part of.”

Supercars general manager commercial, Jamie Black, said a leaderboard will be presented to help fans keep track of the Hard Charger race.

“This is something different for fans of all teams to follow throughout the PIRTEK Enduro Cup,” Black said.

“They can stay up-to-date with the results following our live broadcast, on Supercars.com and through our social media channels.

“Supercars is delighted to work with Volkswagen and their agency PHD on this initiative.”

Bathurst will mark the start of the enduros across October 10-13.
