Supercars Heading To Darwin For Australian-First Event

For the first time in Australia, Supercars enthusiasts will have the unique opportunity to see the entire lineup of their beloved race cars parade through the streets of Darwin.

On Thursday June 13, the entire field of Gen3 Supercars will drive from Hidden Valley Raceway into Darwin CBD, stopping off at The Esplanade for a signing session for eager fans. The event will alow fans to see the iconic Australian Supercars up close, showcasing Indigenous artworks in preparation for the betr Darwin Triple Crown Supercars Indigenous Round.

The popular sunset transporter parade will also make a comeback on Wednesday, June 12. The Supercars convoy along with support category transporters will drive through the CBD, signalling the championship’s arrival in the Top End, ahead of a weekend of action at Hidden Valley Raceway.

Over the weekend, fans can enjoy two 137-kilometre races on Saturday and Sunday, forming the fifth round of the 2024 Repco Supercars Championship. The driver who qualifies first on Friday and wins both weekend races will be awarded the Darwin Triple Crown. Aside from the thrilling Supercars races, spectators can look forward to support categories such as Porsche Carrera Cup Australia, V8 SuperUtes, Touring Car Masters, and Combined Sedans. The Nitro Up North drag racing event will also add to the excitement with races at the Hidden Valley dragway on Friday and Saturday evenings.

With the 2023 Darwin Supercars generating a total expenditure stimulus of $27.6 million, Track to Town is a major win for the Northern Territory.
