With less than two months remaining until the highly anticipated 2023 Cathedral Invitational, presented by Atom, the anticipation is reaching fever pitch. In a thrilling lead-up to the tournament, several new additions to the player roster have been revealed, further elevating the excitement surrounding this unique and rapidly growing event.
Among the latest names to join the extended field are former US Open champion Geoff Ogilvy, current PGA Tour Australasia Order Of Merit Winner David Micheluzzi and LIV Golf sensation Jed Morgan.
Scheduled to take place at the prestigious Cathedral Lodge and Golf Club in Thornton, Victoria, on December 5-6, the Cathedral Invitational will showcase a field of 50 invited players. This already impressive line-up includes golf luminaries such as Cameron Smith, Adam Scott, Marc Leishman and Gabi Ruffels.
Dimi Papadatos, Brendan Jones, Brett Rumford and Nick O’Hern will also grace the fairways, with Victorian trio Todd Sinott, Brett Coletta and Zach Murray adding an extra layer of excitement for the local fans who will have a unique opportunity to walk the course alongside these golf stars.
Joining this growing roster of invitees is the promising young talent Cassie Porter, a 21-year-old hailing from Peregian Beach, who aims to build on her victory at the 2023 WPGA Melbourne International. The inclusive spirit of the Cathedral Invitational extends to world No.1 disability golfer Kipp Popert, who will be competing in this event. Additionally, one male and one female amateur player will be announced soon, further enhancing the diversity of talent in the tournament.

The Cathedral Invitational will feature a 36-hole format played over two days – and the winner will be rewarded with a $100,000 grand prize.
What sets this event apart is the unique opportunity it provides for the general public to experience the picturesque Cathedral Lodge & Golf Club and its esteemed surroundings. On Wednesday, December 6, the course will be open to the public for the only time in 2023.
