Melbourne’s iconic coffee roaster, ST. ALi, has been announced as an Official Supplier for the Australian Commonwealth Games Team.

The partnership will see the roaster establish a dedicated café presence at AUS HQ during the Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games, providing a quintessential “taste of home” for athletes, officials, and their families.

The announcement marks the 100-days-to-go milestone until the Games commence.

To celebrate the countdown, ST. ALi will give away 100 free coffees at its South Melbourne café to the first 100 customers from 7:00 a.m. tomorrow, Tuesday 14 April.

Highlighting the psychological importance of familiar rituals during major international competitions, Australian Team chef de mission, Petria Thomas OAM OLY, siad: “The athletes have time and time again told us the difference barista-made coffee has made to their Games experience.”

“It’s a little taste of home, a long way from home,” Thomas said.

Sharing the brand’s enthusiasm for supporting national talent, ST. ALi CEO, Lachlan Ward, added: “Great coffee brings people together and we’re excited to play a small part in helping athletes feel at home and ready to perform at their best.”

Elite Fuel: The Barista-Led Strategy

Recognising that high-quality coffee has become a staple of the Australian high-performance environment, ST. ALi is committing significant resources to the Glasgow activation:

  • Expert Staffing: Three elite baristas will be flown from Australia to Glasgow to ensure the coffee meets Melbourne’s rigorous standards.
  • High-Volume Service: The team is forecasting more than 700 cups will be served daily from the forecourt of AUS HQ.
  • Inclusive Hospitality: In addition to athletes and coaches, the service will be extended to family and friends of competitors as part of the Sideline Champions program.

The Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games are scheduled to take place from 23 July to 2 August 2026.
