The National Basketball League (NBL) has announced a partnership with prominent Australian retailer Spotlight, naming the brand the official Celebration Partner ahead of the Hungry Jack’s NBL27 season.

The agreement integrates Spotlight across multiple high-impact touchpoints, including live broadcast integrations, matchday stadium experiences, and targeted digital activations designed to enhance fan engagement and community participation across the national competition.

The collaboration aims to leverage the rapid commercial growth and expanding family demographic of the league, providing brand partners with deep connectivity to basketball’s surging audience base.

Commenting on the partnership, CEO of Spotlight, Quentin Gracanin, said: “At Spotlight, we help Australians bring their celebrations to life every day, and few things bring people together quite like sport.”

“That’s why we’re excited to partner with the NBL and inspire fans to get behind their teams, celebrate every victory and make the most of the unforgettable moments across this basketball season,” Gracanin said.

Echoing these sentiments, NBL chief commercial officer, Samantha Green, added: “We’re delighted to welcome Spotlight to the NBL family.”

“Spotlight is a brand that Australians know and trust.

“It has become a one-stop-shop for families and makes its way into homes in celebratory moments throughout the year.

“Their presence across our broadcast and match-day experience will give Spotlight a direct connection to one of the fastest-growing fan bases in Australian sport,” Green said.

By aligning with one of the country’s most recognisable retail institutions, the league continues to expand its commercial ecosystem through mainstream consumer brands. The partnership will see Spotlight woven into core game day traditions and major league showcases, including prominent activations linked to the upcoming festival of basketball, HoopsFest Perth.
