Eric Conrad, former vice president of sports programming and acquisitions at Univision, has joined Sportradar as managing director, strategic partnerships, and content for North America.

Reporting directly to chief commercial officer, Eduard Blonk, Conrad will build upon the Sportradar US sports content and partnerships (SCP) team.

Commenting on Conrad’s appointment, Blonk, said his addition is at a time of rapid growth for the North American market.

“Eric has the leadership track record and experience we believe are critical to lead the regional SCP team, including the ability to forge additional partnerships, a strong focus on value creation with the sports fan in the centre and a focus on delivering value to our customers,” said Blonk.

The SCP team, who’ve secured partnerships with the NHL, NBA and MLB, will see Conrad’s insertion build upon new and existing partnerships.

Conrad will also work closely with Sportradar’s media and betting partners on commercial returns, while also pursuing new, long-term partnerships to drive Sportradar growth.

Conrad’s introduction will be supported by over 20 years of transactional sports rights experience,  with his most recent work being on Univision’s sports rights portfolio, where he secured relationships with FIFA, UEFA and MLS among others.

Prior to Univision, Conrad, worked in various roles within ESPN’s programming and acquisitions team, and holding media rights and sponsorship sale positions with the MLB and NBA.
