Swimwear company Speedo have continued their partnership with the Australian Paralympic Team for a fourth consecutive Paralympics ahead of Tokyo 2020.
It will be the sole provider of swim gear for the team and will supply high-performance competition and training wear in preparation for the Games in August.
“We are thrilled to extend our exclusive partnership with Paralympics Australia that will see us supply the green and gold swimmers to our national team heading to Tokyo 2020,” Brand Manager at Speedo Australia, Graham Eyres, said.
“Speedo is passionate about life in and around the water, and our aim is to inspire people to swim.
“We are sure the Paralympic athletes in Tokyo will inspire all Australians to get involved in sport and swimming.”
The team won nine golds, 10 silvers and 10 bronzes at the 2016 Rio Olympics in swimming events with Ellie Cole and Brendan Hall regaining their titles from London 2012.
“Paralympics Australia is delighted to welcome Speedo back into the Paralympic family,” Paralympics Australia’s Chief Executive, Lynne Anderson, said.
“Their support and commitment in the lead-up to the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games is a huge boost for para-swimmers aiming for glory against the world’s best.”
Australia has been fifth overall in every Games since 2000, when they topped the medal table on home soil in Sydney.
They also had their best showing in the pool in London in 2012, finishing second behind China and ahead of hosts Great Britain.
