NFL Super Bowl LVI host arena, SoFi Stadium has announced the launch of the ‘SoFi Stadium wallet’ through the SoFi Stadium app, in partnership with mobile wallet company, Tappit.

The new feature will allow fans and visitors in not only the stadium but the entirety of the Hollywood Park area to use the app to make contactless payments throughout the stadium and surrounding venues.

Los Angeles Rams owner and chairman, E. Stanley Kroenke, announced the ten-year deal will not only benefit the fans through incentive-based opportunities after purchases, but will also allow for venue management to have detailed data on consumer purchases.

The app will give fans the opportunity to order food, beverages and merchandise from scanning a QR code and ordering from their seats and allowing them to choose how they pay.

Along with hosting the 2022 NFL Super Bowl, the stadium is also set to host the 2023 College Football National Championship Game, as well as the opening and closing ceremony of the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.

Discussing the new partnership, Tappit CEO, Jason Thomas, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park.”

The vision and infrastructure in place are truly world-class.

“By adding Tappit’s seamless payment solution and the powerful, actionable data and insights it generates, SoFi Stadium will be able to continue offering loyal fans meaningful experiences in and around the venue with faster transactions and shorter lines,” Thomas said.

The data and insights generated from the partnership across the 300 acres of the Hollywood Park venue will provide SoFi Stadium with the ability to better understand fan behaviour and consumption.

SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park chief technology officer, Skarpi Hedinsson, said: “SoFi Stadium is one of the most technological and fan-oriented venues in the world.”

“When it came to choosing a partner to launch SoFi Stadium Wallet across SoFi Stadium and Hollywood Park, Tappit was the logical choice.

“We want guests that enter our site to have multiple payment options, so they can make transactions safely and efficiently.

“Through Tappit’s technology and the invaluable insights it provides, we’ll be able to do just that,” Hedinsson said.
