Sephora Australia Announce Partnership with the WNBL

Sephora Australia has officially entered the domestic sporting arena, signing as the Official Beauty Partner of the Women’s National Basketball League (WNBL) for the 2026-27 season.

The partnership, which positions the global beauty giant as a Foundation Partner, represents a “pivot moment” for the league as it continues to attract major international brands.

The partnership was revealed on February 9 at the WNBL MVP Awards Night in Sydney. The event saw Isobel Borlase of the Bendigo Spirit crowned the Suzy Batkovic MVP, becoming the youngest player in over a decade to receive the honour. Borlase’s historic season, which included a club-record 42-point performance, underscored the elite talent Sephora aims to celebrate through its new partnership.

Commenting on the partnership, global chief marketing officer at Sephora, , Deborah Yeh, said: “At Sephora, we believe in championing a world of inspiration and inclusivity.”

“The WNBL has, since its inception, been a champion of diversity… Sephora will leverage its scale, creativity, and community to elevate the WNBL experience,” Yeh said.

Describing the deal as an “absolute game-changer,” WNBL CEO, Jennie Sager, noted that basketball is currently among Australia’s fastest-growing sports for young girls.

“Sephora is a globally recognised brand with a strong commitment to confidence and self-expression.”

“This partnership will help us continue to evolve how women’s basketball is experienced and celebrated in Australia,” Sager said.

Under the new framework, Sephora will leverage its global scale to elevate the fan experience through in-venue activations, including “mini makeovers,” product sampling, and exclusive gifting at selected games. The collaboration will also focus on high-impact athlete storytelling and community programs centred on confidence and diversity—themes that resonate with the organisation’s core mission.
