SEN To Broadcast T20 World Cup

Australian sports radio broadcaster, Sports Entertainment Network (SEN), has secured the rights to the 2022 ICC Men’s T20 World Cup.

In an agreement with the ICC’s exclusive global audio rights holder, the Channel 2 Group, SEN, and its New Zealand branch SENZ, will be able to broadcast every match of the tournament.

As part of the deal, Channel 2 Group will publish the broadcast on their Digital 2 Sports platform, with an expected audience of 1.2 billion.

Commenting on the opportunity to broadcast the tournament, Channel 2 Group’s chairman, Ajay Sethi, said: “I am very delighted that this prestigious sporting event like ICC T20 World Cup 2022 is taking place in Australia.”

“I am also delighted that SEN will be creating world class audio commentary to reach 100 plus countries around the world from this world feed.”

For SEN, the acquisition of this tournament adds to a portfolio including both the men’s and women’s FIFA World Cups as they look to cement their position as a leading sports broadcaster in Australian radio.

SEN national radio director, Sam Thompson, commented: “There is a real sense of anticipation for this tournament, and we are really excited to bring both our Australian and New Zealand audiences live coverage throughout the month of cricket.

“Given the popularity of cricket across both countries, I have no doubt that our listeners will enjoy our in-depth analysis and commentary. Pleasingly, this is yet another example of our dedication to broadcasting the biggest events both at home and internationally across both SEN and SENZ,” he said.

The ICC Men’s T20 World Cup begins on 16 October.
