Sports Entertainment Group Limited (SEG) has announced the acquisition of the brand and audio and digital broadcasting assets of 3UZ Pty Ltd, commonly known as RSN. The agreement positions SEG as the sole dedicated broadcaster of all three codes of racing in Victoria.

Commitment to Racing Coverage

SEG CEO Craig Hutchison said the acquisition reinforces the company’s commitment to the racing industry. “SEG is all in on racing,” Hutchison said, adding that the group will deliver more innovative and engaging coverage for both dedicated fans and casual followers.

He acknowledged RSN’s historical significance, with the station celebrating 100 years in 2025, and confirmed SEG will honour its legacy while driving the next phase of growth.

Backing from the Victorian Racing Industry

RSN Director and Victorian Racing Industry representative Aaron Morrison welcomed the deal, praising SEG’s vision, expertise, and distribution capabilities.

“This partnership ensures the continuity of RSN’s valued audio broadcasts, while expanding the reach of Victorian racing,” Morrison said.

Commercial Terms and Integration

The transaction remains subject to standard conditions of sale and is expected to complete on 1 September 2025. The agreed purchase price is AUD 3.25 million, payable over three years and funded from SEG’s cash reserves.

The acquisition is expected to be earnings accretive in FY26, aligning with SEG’s guidance of double-digit EBITDA growth.

SEG will continue operating both RSN and SEN Track on their current frequencies. As part of the integration, select RSN programming will also be simulcast on racing.com, extending audience access through SEG’s broader digital ecosystem.
