Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra smartphones are set to change the way NCAA Big Ten Conference college basketball events are captured and broadcast.
Under the terms of the contract, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra has been designated as the official smartphone camera of the Big Ten, a testament to the device’s cutting-edge technology and capabilities. These smartphones will be deployed to capture both video and still images during live Big Ten basketball games, which will then be seamlessly integrated into the Big Ten Network’s live coverage.
The partnership kicks off with coverage of the highly anticipated Big Ten men’s and women’s basketball tournaments, while the initiative builds upon the successful collaboration between Samsung and the Big Ten, which previously centred around the Samsung Galaxy Tab S9 at the 2023 Big Ten football championship game.
This collaboration demonstrates the increasing importance of smartphone cameras in the realm of sports broadcasting, highlighting the technological advancements that have transformed these devices into indispensable tools for capturing high-quality imagery. For Samsung, this partnership represents an opportunity to showcase its latest innovations in a fiercely competitive market.
“At Samsung, we’re all about fuelling people’s passions,” said Olga Suvorova, Vice President of Mobile eXperience Marketing at Samsung Electronics America.
“Having the S24 Ultra named the official smartphone camera of the Big Ten Conference gives us a chance to take the fan experience to the next level by showing what’s possible with this incredible technology.
“We’re highlighting the moments that go down in college basketball history and capturing fans’ reactions with our most advanced camera ever, powered by Galaxy AI.”
François McGillicuddy, President of BTN, added, “In utilising Samsung’s advanced technology, we are excited to enhance our game broadcasts with action shots from the Samsung Galaxy S24 and add an element of creativity to the TIAA Big Ten Men’s and Women’s Basketball Tournaments.”
Additionally, with the NCAA ‘March Madness’ championships scheduled for later this month, the partnership between Samsung and the Big Ten promises to deliver throughout the tournament.
