obson Civil Projects has signed on as a naming rights partner of the second event of the Virgin Australia Supercars Championship Townsville double-header.

The event will now be named the Robson Civil Projects Townsville SuperSprint, with the company extending on their long-term support of Supercars through a personal sponsorship with Tickford co-driver, Michael Caruso.

Robson Civil Projects director, Grant Robson, said the partnership with Supercars shows the passion the company has for motorsports.

“Motorsport is a real passion for our family, in fact, the entire team seem to share that passion,” Robson said.

“We have supported Michael Caruso for years now, and he has played a key role in helping bring this partnership to life,” he said.

Fellow director, Mark Robson, said he feels privileged to be able to support Supercars with this new partnership.

“I really believe that the excitement of this sport offers a much-needed escape from the uncertainty of 2020 that we are all feeling,” Mark Robson said.

“We feel very privileged that during these times we can support the sport we love,” he said.

Supercars general manager of commercial, Jamie Black, said the support from the family-based company is exciting.

“We’re thrilled to have a new partner join the Supercars family, through Robson’s naming rights announcement for our September Townsville event,” Black said.

“Having a family-based company that is passionate about our category throw its support behind one of our biggest events on the calendar which has a global audience, is great news,” he said.

The Robson Civil Projects SuperSprint will take place at Reid Park in Townsville on September 5-6 with three races over two days as part of the North Queensland double-header event.
