Richmond’s Aligned Leisure Secures Yarra Ranges Shire Management Contract

The Richmond Football Club has announced that its subsidiary, Aligned Leisure, has been appointed to manage six leisure facilities for the Yarra Ranges Shire Council.

Effective 1 July 2026, the partnership marks a significant expansion of Richmond’s diversified business model, bringing Aligned Leisure’s total facility count to 57 across Victoria and New South Wales.

Highlighting that the subsidiary’s success is integral to the club’s broader commercial health, Richmond CEO, Shane Dunne, said: “Aligned Leisure plays an important role in Richmond’s diversified revenue streams, which supports the long-term financial strength of the Club and ensures it remains in a strong financial position moving forward.” 

The partnership represents a “new chapter” for community services in the Yarra Ranges.

Emphasising the importance of a smooth transition, Mayor Cr Richard Higgins, noted that the council will work closely with the Aligned team over the coming months to maintain quality service delivery for residents who “cherish their local aquatic and leisure facilities.”

Reiterating the organisation’s commitment to driving physical activity and wellbeing outcomes, Aligned Leisure CEO, Ben Tudhope, said: “Our team has a strong track record and is passionate about delivering positive health and wellbeing outcomes.”

“We are thrilled to partner with Council and to play a role in supporting the physical activity and wellbeing of Yarra Ranges residents,” Tudhope said.

Under the new agreement, Aligned Leisure will take over the management of a diverse range of aquatic and recreation assets within the Yarra Ranges:

• Monbulk Aquatic Centre
• Yarra Centre
• Jack Hort Memorial Community Pool
• Belgrave Outdoor Pool
• Lilydale Outdoor Pool
• Healesville Outdoor Pool
