Major League Soccer (MLS) team Houston Dynamo FC are set to be purchased by real estate developer, Ted Segal, for USD$400 million (AUD$516 million).
The New York City based developer and president of EJS Group is buying a majority stake from current owner, Gabriel Brener, who will retain a minority stake in the club.
Segal is well acquainted with the sporting world as an investor and board member with fighting organisation, the Professional Fighters League.
The deal will also include National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) team Houston Dash, and will keep minority owners Oscar De La Hoya and James Harden within the franchise, while investor Jake Silverstein is reported to be exiting.
This is the second MLS sale agreement this month with Minnesota Vikings and Nashville SC owners, the Wilf Family, agreeing to purchase Orlando City SC.
