Racing Bulls have confirmed that technical director Jody Egginton will be departing the team after a tenure spanning over 10 years.

Egginton will transition to a new position as engineering director at Red Bull Advanced Technologies, effective from April 1 this year.

Commenting on his time with the team, Egginton, said: ““Being part of this team for over 10 years has been a fantastic experience for me, providing some very memorable moments. But after almost 20 years of focusing solely on Formula 1, I feel it’s time for a change.”

Racing Bulls team principal, Laurent Mekies, added: “As our long-serving Technical Director, he has been instrumental in driving innovation and fostering team growth.”

“I want to thank Jody for his expertise and the important contribution he has made to the team and the company’s upward trajectory. We wish him all the best for this new challenge within the Red Bull family,” Mekies said.

His career in Formula 1 commenced in 1996 as a Junior Designer with Tyrrell, subsequently taking on roles at Midland, which evolved into Spyker and Force Indii, and Team Lotus.

Egginton joined Toro Rosso in 2014, initially serving as head of vehicle performance, advancing to Deputy Technical Director in 2017, and later being appointed Technical Director in 2019.

In Egginton’s absence, his responsibilities at Racing Bulls will be divided among Chief Technical Officer Tim Goss and Deputy Technical Directors Guillaume Cattelani (Car Performance) and Andrea Landi (Car Design).
