Queensland Reds Rugby has announced a multi-year extension of its partnership with La Banderita, confirming the international tortilla brand will remain a partner and supplier for the 2026 and 2027 seasons, aligning the commitment with the next Rugby World Cup year.
The renewal is higlighted by the successful commercial growth La Banderita has achieved since first partnering with the Queensland Rugby Union (QRU) in 2022.
The company, the flagship brand of the largest family-owned tortilla maker in the USA, has significantly expanded its Australian footprint to over 850 retailers nationally, including major chains like Woolworths and Costco, and independent grocers such as Harris Farm and IGA.
Confirming how the partnership provides both strategic demographic alignment and essential grassroots connectivity, managing director for La Banderita, Stu Richardson, said: “This relationship with the Reds aligns well with our core demographic and also takes us into the grassroots level where we look to support as a company with numerous community clubs and charities.”
With rugby, we have ties and support to Wests Rugby Club, BBC Rugby, Queensland Rugby and the Reds,” Richardson said.
Acknowledging the value that La Banderita brings to the organisation, emphasising the synergy between the two brands, QRU head of commercial and consumer, Pete Fairbairn, added: “We greatly value our relationship with Stu, Caitlin Kent and the whole La Banderita team and we are looking forward to the next two years with La Banderita.”
