Pick Fresh, Play Fresh to Encourage Healthy Eating

Woolworths are celebrating healthy eating with a brand new initiative for Webber WBBL, Pick Fresh, Play Fresh.

Players from all eight Big Bash clubs are working with woolworths to inspire children and parents to eat more fresh fruit and vegetables.

The promotion highlights how eating healthy fuels your body with more energy to make you feel happier and give you more energy.

Woolworths Group Chief Marketing Officer Andrew Hicks, stated “as Today’s Fresh Food People, we’re committed to improving the health and wellbeing of Australian kids. We recognise the importance of sport in positively shaping kids’ health and we’re proud to introduce Woolworths Pick Fresh Play Fresh Round to help educate young cricket fans and their families about the natural connection between picking fresh and playing fresh.”.

Each of the eight clubs will nominate a fruit or vegetable that matches the clubs colours to promote.

For every six that is hit across across the Pick Fresh, Play Fresh rounds, Woolworths is donating $500 to local community clubs nominated by by each WBBL team.

This is the first time a round of an Australian elite sport has been dedicated to promoting healthy eating in children.

Cricket Australia’s general manager of Big Bash Leagues said “The addition of Woolworths Pick Fresh, Play Fresh Round to the calendar is an exciting first for both the League and Woolworths, a loyal and long-term partner of Australian Cricket.”.
