The PGA Tour has confirmed a new partnership with Netflix for the production of a new docuseries covering top golf athletes from all four major championships and the 2022 season.

The pair are yet to confirm a release date for the series, but have revealed the series will provide unprecedented access to the Masters, PGA Championship, US Open, The Open Championship, and other top events including the FedExCup and The Players Championship.

The series will feature a wide range of athletes and their support teams, such as Dustin Johnson, Bryson DeChambeau, Justin Thomas, Matthew Fitzpatrick, Kevin Na, and Bubba Watson, among others.

The focus of the series, produced by Vox Media Studios and Box To Box Films, will be on providing exclusive, never-before-seen access to the intensity of training, travel, victory, and defeat in golf.

PGA Tour chief media officer, Rick Anderson, said: “This partnership with Netflix presents the PGA Tour and the four major championships an opportunity to tap into a completely new and diverse audience.”

“This documentary will give fans an authentic look into the real lives of our athletes, and what it’s like to win, and lose, during a season on the PGA Tour,” Anderson said.

Netflix vice president of unscripted and documentary series, Brandon Riegg, said filming is already underway for the series and will continue throughout 2022.

“We are thrilled to bring golf’s leading organizations and players together for this first-of-its-kind partnership and unparalleled window into life on the Tour,” Riegg said.

“Our members will love getting to know the players and personalities as well as the iconic venues along the way.

“Even the most devoted golf fans have never seen the sport quite like this,” he said.

The producers of the series, Vox Media Studios and Box To Box Films, were responsible for the Explained series and the Formula 1: Drive to Survive series, respectively.
