PFL Announces DAZN As Media Rights Partner

The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has entered a multi-year partnership with the global sports and entertainment platform, DAZN that will see all PFL global events broadcast exclusively on the platform.

With a focus on Europe, DAZN will serve 53 markets including the UK, Ireland and Spain, while the broadcast platform will also become partner of the new PFL PPV Super Fight Division, which which sees them promote and distribute in international territories outside of the United States and Canada.

Additionally, DAZN and the PFL will also enter into a joint venture that will see the creation of PFL Europe, a regional MMA league set to feature top emerging European fighters, with fights staged in Europe and broadcast live during prime hours.

Commenting on the new deal, PFL CEO, Peter Murray, said: “PFL Europe is the beginning of the Champions League of MMA from PFL.”

“We are excited to have DAZN as our strategic media rights distribution partner in Europe for all of fight franchises,” he said.

DAZN Group CEO, Shay Segev, added: “DAZN is fast becoming the preferred partner for rights holders for the simple reason that we can provide a truly global solution, access to fanbase across the world.”

“We have a strong track record investing in and accelerating the growth of sports.

“We are also more agile and innovative than traditional broadcasters and, like the PFL, we want to stay relevant to today’s consumer.

“With DAZN, fans can either watch in the traditional linear way or enjoy a more immersive and interactive entertainment experience with greater gamification and bolt-on products and services,” he said.

This new partnership follows the announcement of DAZN’s acquisition of global sports media business ELEVEN group to expand its global streaming capabilities.
