Perth has been announced as the chosen city to host the first-ever HoopsFest, Australia’s premier basketball festival.
From September 19 to 22, 2024, Perth will take centre stage as it hosts all games for the opening round of the 2024-25 Australian National Basketball League (NBL) season.
Additionally, the preseason competition for the Women’s NBL and the Under 18s Club Championships featuring the top 48 teams from across Australia will be held exclusively in the city.
The matches will unfold at various top-notch venues including RAC Arena, HBF Stadium, Bendat Basketball Centre, and HBF Arena. Beyond the courts, basketball enthusiasts can anticipate a line-up of exciting events such as Sneakerland, the largest sneaker culture festival in Australia. Moreover, the official HoopsFest Fan Festival at Forrest Place promises a fusion of music, entertainment, street basketball, and more.
HoopsFest is poised to draw in hordes of visitors from interstate, offering a significant economic boost to Western Australia’s tourism and hospitality sectors, while also leaving a lasting impact on the region. This event further cements Western Australia’s standing as a hub for major events, following the success of other blockbuster events held earlier this year including the United Cup, HSBC Rugby Sevens, and WWE Elimination Chamber: Perth.
