he CompEat Nutrition Pathway to Paralympics grants for aspiring Paralympians have been opened, with two Paralympian hopefuls to receive $1,500 each.

The grants are set to cover costs relating to new and upgraded equipment to improve competition in international events, with Olympic-level performance support and coaching, as well as travel costs, included.

CompEat Nutrition co-founder and co-CEO, Alicia Edge, said the grant recipients will also receive free access to the CompEat Nutrition platform for 12 months.

“We are very excited to be supporting aspiring and future Paralympians through the first CompEat Nutrition Pathway to Paralympics Grant,” Edge said.

“Funds for the grant originate from CompEatCon held in April last year, a global online summit that brought sports practitioners and athletes together in a time where many were struggling for purpose.

“As one of the first fully online conferences in the height of COVID-19 lockdowns, we were thrilled by both the response and generosity from all involved in the event.

“Thousands of dollars were raised within a ‘pay what you can’ ticket structure to help us fund much-needed support for athlete wellbeing.

“Not only will these two grants provide funding for the development and training of the recipients, they will also gain full access to our CompEat Nutrition platform, integrating nutrition support at the centre of their well-being and performance,” she said.

The grants will be delivered in partnership with Sport Access Foundation, with applications set to close on Friday 27 August.
