OtterBox Expand Partnership With Richmond

The AFL’s Richmond Tigers has announced a new partnership with OtterBox, as the Club’s shorts partner for the next two seasons.

Moving on from departed shorts sponsor Bang & Olufsen, the global phone case giant will feature on both the AFL and VFL teams’ match-day shorts for the 2019 and 2020 seasons.

Having already aligned with the Club as a digital partner in 2017, this new deal is an expanded commitment to the Tigers by the Colorado-based company, which has recently expanded its product range to include rugged outdoor products.

The brand will also have a match-day presence in Richmond’s change rooms, and interact with the Tiger Army through in-stadium giveaways.

Richmond CEO, Brendon Gale, said he was delighted for OtterBox to broaden their commitment to the Club after just 12 months of partnership.

“It’s always exciting to introduce both the Richmond Football Club and the game of Australian football to a new, international partner, and to see them have a really positive experience with our great game.

“We look forward to working with OtterBox over the next two years at least, and watching our players run out for Round 1 with their yellow and black logo on their uniforms.”

Otter Products’ Asia-Pacific Head of Marketing, Sean Murphy, said he couldn’t wait for the start of the new season.

“We are ecstatic with what we were able to achieve by partnering with the Tigers last year,” Murphy said.

“We’re excited to increase our integration with the Club in the next two seasons, and we can’t wait to see our brand run out on the ‘G as Richmond’s 2019 and 2020 shorts partner.

“OtterBox has always engineered products that can take a knock with no worries. Richmond, both on and off the field, has shown unrivalled resiliency in their rise to the top, and we are proud to be supporting an organisation that in many ways we feel mirrors our own.”
