Central Florida NBA franchise, the Orlando Magic, have announced an extension to their community sponsorship agreement with Walt Disney World Resort.
Fans will continue to see Disney branding on the team’s jerseys as the new partnership re-establishes both organisations commitment to supporting their local community.
After initially becoming the Magic’s Community Sponsor in 2010, Disney became the official jersey sponsor in 2017.
Since then, the two organisations have collaborated on several community outreach programs, in a relationship that allows both brands to connect their fan bases through shared marketing opportunities.
Additionally, Disney’s presence will continue to be a feature at the Magic’s home arena, the Amway Center and will include a special seating and hospitality area during select Orlando Magic home games.
Commenting on the extension, Walt Disney World president, Jeff Vahle, said: “The Orlando Magic and Disney have much in common, and it’s reflected in our hometown team’s name.”
“We are excited to extend this relationship and wish the team a great season,” he said.
Orlando Magic CEO, Alex Martins, added: “The Orlando Magic are thrilled to announce an extended agreement with our longtime friends, Walt Disney World Resort.”
“The extension represents a continued shared commitment to both the local community, and creating magic for fans and guests alike.
“As pillars in the Orlando co
mmunity, we are proud to represent the City of Orlando and all those who call ‘The City Beautiful’ home,” he said.
The announcement follow that of NBA rivals, the Chicago Bulls, naming Motorola as their new jersey sponsor.
