With the Premier League season set to return on June 18, Optus Sport has secured the rights to stream all 92 remaining live games for the 2019/20 season.
Optus head of TV and content, Corin Dimopoulos, said in celebration of the Premier League’s return, Optus Sport has launched a new mobile app with innovative features and improved layout, aiming to provide a more immersive fan experience.
“The Premier League’s return is a huge moment for live sport, and we’re thrilled to reconnect our passionate Optus Sport customers to what they love,” Dimopoulos said.
“For sport-starved fans, the Premier League’s return could not come at a better time.
“Live sport is a great unifier that brings people together from across the world through shared moments of joy and excitement.
“Optus Sport is the exclusive Australian home of the world’s most watched football league and we can’t wait to bring every game live and on-demand to our customers from 18 June.
“We have re-built our app from the ground-up to give football fans the best possible experience when streaming live or on-demand.
“The new app design is bursting with more content, archives and competitions, two round-the-clock football channels, personalised content feeds and a new ‘Match Centre’, which combines all the coverage and stats in one place,” he said.
With their Premier League coverage, Optus Sport will also give viewers the option to experience games with virtual crowd noise to replicate the unique, vibrant atmosphere of each stadium, meaning grounds such as Anfield will still sound like Anfield.
All 92 remaining matches will also feature their own studio coverage, with enhancements such as virtual analysis from players’ perspectives, player cam content and live warm-ups on social media for certain matches set to be a key feature.
