Entertainment, media and Esports organisation, OpTic Gaming, has announced the full acquisition of cross platform engagement and monetisation tool, Botisimo.
Botisimo, who reports 36 million unique monthly viewers, has 30,000 streamers using its platform and assists content creators in promotions, distributing content, analytics, engagement, and sponsored partner integrations.
Additionally, the acquisition will see Botisim founder, Oscar Armstrong, join the esports organisation as an executive vice president.
Commenting on the deal, Armstrong, said: “Joining a future forward and industry leading group in OpTic – a team that knows gaming, audience development and entertainment inside and out – is a natural next step for Botisimo.”
“We know that gaming and esports content make up a huge percentage of consumed live streaming content and look forward to adding more and more of the industry’s biggest personalities and popular teams as users that trust Botisimo as their live stream technology partner,” he said.
OpTic CEO, Adam Rymer, added: “Investing in the tools, content and new technologies that help creators and teams deliver a better experience to viewers on stream is core to our efforts to grow communities around gaming.”
“We believe a major path forward is in diversifying revenue opportunities and deepening our involvement in streaming, just as we’ve done in live events.
“We look forward to supporting the product development and scalability of what we believe is one of the most powerful tools a creator can use to engage with their audience,” he said.
The acquisition comes after Envy Gaming, who recently adopted the OpTic Gaming brand, invested in Botisimo’s Series A funding round in 2021.
