ingapore-based mixed martial arts competition, ONE Championship, has announced a global content partnership with Facebook, covering content, gaming, and virtual reality.

As part of the deal, ONE Championship content will be shown on Facebook Watch, with a dedicated Facebook Gaming channel for athletes to stream gameplay and commentary to be created, along with Oculus VR content for the Venues interactive live event second-screen experience.

With exclusive rights to unique camera angles and behind the scenes footage and interviews, Facebook will produce exclusive video content for Facebook Watch and Instagram’s IGTV.

The gaming channel on Facebook Gaming will be named One Championship and One Esports Facebook Gaming, aiming to build further on ONE Championship’s Facebook page with over 25 million followers and 5 billion video views across 2019.

ONE Championship CCO, Hari Vijayarajan, said the competition hopes this partnership will help them connect better to fans.

“ONE Championship is committed to finding new ways to connect authentically with our fans to let them experience the stories of hope, strength, dreams, and inspiration created by our athlete superheroes,” Vijayarajan said.

“Our long-term partnership with Facebook has been instrumental in allowing us to build reach and audiences around the world.

“We are excited to expand our partnership and leverage the power of the Facebook platform, be that VR with Oculus, the rapid growth of esports and community gaming with Facebook Gaming, or simply non-stop action clips for Facebook Watch you cannot find anywhere else,” he said.

Facebook director of sports partnerships for the Asia Pacific region, Joyee Biswas, said the aligned values of ONE Championship and Facebook will help boost both organisations.

“Community is at the core of ONE Championship and we will continue to help them reach their audiences,” Biswas said.
