upercars has announced NTI Limited has signed a three-year deal as the official naming rights partner of the annual Townsville Supercars event, starting with the NTI Townsville SuperSprint on August 29-30.

NTI is the official truck insurance and roadside assistance partner of the Supercars Championship and holds naming rights of Lee Holdsworth’s Tickford Racing Ford and Garry Jacobson’s Matt Stone Racing Holden through its online brand, Truck Assist.

NTI CEO, Tony Clark, said NTI is excited to extend their partnership with Supercars.

“NTI is excited to extend our support of Supercars to include naming rights partner of the NTI Townsville SuperSprint,” Clark said.

“It’s a natural extension of the relationships our Truck Assist and Yellow Cover brands already enjoy with the sport.

“We’re proud of how Supercars and all the race teams involved have remained committed and adaptive to this year’s race season.

“We know how important it is to the fans, and everyone involved behind the scenes, to keep the spirit and competition alive.

“We look forward to getting back on the podium again in Townsville,” he said.

Supercars CEO, Sean Seamer, said the NTI Townsville SuperSprint will take place at Reid Park in North Queensland, followed by a second, ‘double-header’ event the following weekend at the same venue.

“We’re delighted NTI has extended its partnership with Supercars with this new three-year deal to support one of our flagship events in Townsville,” Seamer said.

“To have an industry leader expand its support within our category is great news for our sport.

“We’d like to thank the Queensland Government and Townsville City Council for supporting this concept which allows Supercars to race at one of our favourite circuits on back-to-back weekends.

“Two weeks of racing in Townsville allows us to maximise exposure and competition during the key northern leg of this year’s championship.

“Supercars would like to thank drivers, officials, team personnel and their families for their continued support of this year’s championship during these times,” he said, discussing the double-header structure which has become a Supercars trend since its return.

Townsville is set to become the third straight destination to hold Supercars double-header events, following two rounds at Sydney Motorsport Park and the upcoming BetEasy Darwin Triple Crown and CoreStaff Darwin SuperSprint events.

The second weekend event, being held on Semptember 5-6, is yet to be given an official title.
