NSW Blues Rugby League (NSWRL) has announced a three-year partnership with banking giant, Westpac.

The deal will see Westpac have the naming rights to the men’s and women’s State of Origin teams and feature on the front of the Blues’ jerseys.

They replace Bryden’s Lawyers as the front of shirt sponsor after five years.

Westpac has also committed to funding their rescue helicopter service through the partnership, with a AUD$5,000 donation for every NSW try scored in 2023 State of Origin.

Additionally, grassroots rugby league will receive a boost from the partnership, with the creation of the Westpac Junior Sky Blues Academy, a pathway program for young female players.

At the launch of the partnership, NSWRL chief executive, Dave Trodden, said: “Westpac and NSW Rugby League are two organisations that are such huge parts of the lives of Australians across the State.”

“We know everyone at Westpac shares our passion for the development of the game across NSW, and we’re looking forward to working closely with them to achieve this from Origin to our grassroots Academy programs.”

“I am confident that the success we have enjoyed will continue into the future, and I look forward to watching the Westpac NSW Blues return the Origin Shield to NSW next season,” he concluded.

The announcement follows a planned AUD$113 million investment into NSW rugby league  and the recent partnership between Westpac and the NRL.
