The Australian Government and Cancer Council have joined forces with National Rugby League (NRL) greats, Petero Civoniceva and Geoff Toovey, and commentator, Andrew Voss, to release a video campaign, Get2it.

The three personalities have come together to participate in the National Bowel Cancer Screening Program (NBCSP) and produce an instructional video promoting the initiative to increase screening rates for men aged 50-59.

Commenting on the program and bowel cancer awareness, Voss, said: “Bowel cancer awareness is a cause that really hits home for me because I’ve seen first-hand how devastating bowel cancer can be after my grandmother was diagnosed with bowel cancer late in the piece before sadly passing away.”

“Early diagnosis could save your life, so I’m honoured to be able to partner with Cancer Council and the Australian Government to help Aussies prioritise their health, Get2It and do a bowel screening test,” he said.

The program will also see the biennial delivery of screening kits for eligible Australians aged between 50 and 74, with the partnership promoting the kits as free, quick and hygienic and can be completed at home.
